Established in 1814, the Moreau family began their journey in Chablis, laying the foundation for this esteemed domaine. Today, under the guidance of Louis Moreau, the sixth-generation steward, the domaine proudly owns 52 hectares of vineyards, including a prized hectare of the renowned Valmur Grand Cru. This exceptional plot, known for its opulence, yields a limited production of only 250 cases. To harness its incredible potential, a small portion of the wine undergoes a two-month ageing process in new oak barrels, taming and enhancing the vineyard’s remarkable power.

For over two centuries, the Moreau family has called Chablis home, with Louis now proudly representing the sixth generation. After obtaining his oenology-viticulture degree from Fresno State University in California and gaining experience at various wineries there, Louis returned to Chablis to follow in his father’s footsteps. With a deep commitment to preserving the environment for future generations, Louis practices sustainable viticulture in his vineyards, always striving for the most natural solutions to ensure the highest quality for his vines and grapes.
