White Wines

White wine is made from green or yellow-coloured grape varieties, fermented without the grape skins to maintain a lighter colour and crisper flavour. Different styles emerge from the winemaking process, including the use of inert vessels, old oak, and new oak. Inert vessels, like stainless steel, preserve fresh and fruity flavours. Old oak barrels add subtle complexity and a creamy texture, while new oak imparts richer flavours and a hint of spice. Aging enhances the wine, with extended aging developing more complex and nuanced profiles. Styles range from light and crisp Sauvignon Blanc to rich and buttery Chardonnay, each offering unique characteristics and flavours.
