Sake, often described as Japanese rice wine, is crafted through a detailed fermentation process. This beloved beverage, made from polished and fermented rice, differs from wine. Its brewing process, akin to beer, transforms starch into sugar and then alcohol, making it a central element of Japanese culture and cuisine, savored in everything from casual meals to ceremonial events.
During Cherry Blossom season, or “Sakura” season, Japan transforms, marking a time of beauty, renewal, and fleeting moments of life. This period, typically from late March to early April, is celebrated with “hanami,” outdoor gatherings under the cherry blossoms. Inspired by this tradition, our hamper invites you to create your own cheese and sake picnic, embracing the springtime beauty and the exquisite pink and white blossoms in full bloom.
