Product Details

Location

Brie de Meaux comes from the historic town of Meaux, located in the Île-de-France region just east of Paris. This area is famous for its rich pastures and cool climate, ideal for dairy farming. The cheese takes its name from the region of Brie, a long-standing centre of traditional cheesemaking. For centuries, locals have produced soft-ripened cheeses using milk from pasture-fed cows. Today, Brie de Meaux continues that tradition with pride. Its status as a protected AOP (Appellation d’Origine Protégée) cheese ensures it is made only in this region and with strict methods. Every wheel carries the history and character of its French roots.

Tasting

Brie de Meaux is an award-winning cheese crafted by the Dongé family, one of the last traditional producers still making it by hand. The rind appears white and bloomy, while the interior is soft and pale with a rich, creamy texture. From the first bite, you’ll taste a balance of salty, buttery, and earthy notes. The paste is smooth and luscious, often softening at the edges as it matures. Flavours deepen over time, offering mushroom-like aromas and a touch of nuttiness. Despite its richness, the cheese stays light on the palate. It finishes with a gentle tang and a clean, savoury echo.

Pairing

Enjoy Brie de Meaux with a variety of pairings, such as crusty bread, fresh fruits, or a glass of Champagne. Its rich and creamy texture complements a wide range of flavours, enhancing any gourmet experience.

Recipe

Brie de Meaux can be savoured on a cheese board, baked with herbs, or melted into a luxurious fondue. Its versatile flavour profile makes it a delightful addition to many dishes.
