History and Winemaking
Situated in Victoria, Rutherglen Estate is renowned for its full-bodied reds and innovative blends. This sparkling Shiraz Durif is crafted using premium fruit from the region. The base wine is aged in oak to develop complexity, then undergoes secondary fermentation to add fine bubbles and balance. The result is a unique Aussie classic bold, structured, and beautifully sparkling. This wine will be drinking at its best over the next two years however, it will also drink well over the next five to eight years.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, this impressive red wine gives hints of berries, mocha, spice, and toasted oak. The pallet is rich and velvety with notes of black plum, chocolate, and spice. Balanced sweetness and a persistent, creamy finish.
