This makes it an inviting and approachable wine that can be served at room temperature or chilled.
History and Winemaking
The Chevrier family has produced wine in Charentay in Brouilly for several generations. However, the domaine in its current form came together when Jean Chevrier married Marcelle Burdin, joining their families’ vineyard holdings. Their son, Patrice, took over in 1984 and now farms 25 hectares of vines, producing wines under 12 different appellations. Additionally, the domaine has holdings in four of the crus – Morgon, Brouilly, Chiroubles, and Fleurie.
They use semi-carbonic maceration for vinifying the Beaujolais wines. They subject part of the crop to carbonic maceration and use traditional vinification for the other part. This method enhances the fruit-forward character of the wines. Furthermore, they age the wines in stainless steel before bottling to ensure freshness and purity of flavour without any oak influence.
